April 1st is a hard day for me…I lost my best friend ~ my sweet mom 6 years ago today. I can’t believe it’s been so long. She was one of the most amazing gifts the Lord has ever given me. I actually started this blog with her in mind…I never intended to ‘sell’ anything on TPT. I didn’t have a clue how to make things in power point and wasn’t sure I had it in me.
I had my website since 2007 – Mrs. Moore’s Busy Bees and enjoyed getting emails from teachers all over the world responding to my ideas, etc. So I thought how fun would it be to have a blog and a more interactive format with teachers leaving comments rather than emails. I knew that it would be very important for me to include motherhood fun and of course my mom’s legacy so this blog was born.
After having my blog for 2 months I thought okay why not try to make something and see what TPT is all about??? I put my first product up the last week of March and do you know I made my very FIRST sale ever on April 1st of last year? I couldn’t believe it…I just cried and cried. I know my mom had something to do with that for sure…the timing was crazy!
It’s been a fun, unbelievable, wild ride full of lots of learning and tons of blessings. I know my mom who was an educator herself would be so proud and I wish she was here with me every single day.
Wasn’t she beautiful??!? Such a blessing to me for sure. Today we head down to the beach to honor her – it has become a tradition. We write messages on balloons and release them to heaven for her to read as my little guy said when he was six.

My grandmother is my hero. She is 94 and still going! She has been through so, so much in her life and whenever I feel completely overwhelmed I think of her. I'm so proud to come from a long line of women who have demonstrated graceful strength.

What a wonderful way to remember your mom. My dad was my hero & I miss him every day. One of the last things he told me was that he was "thinking pink" for me. I was pregnant w/ my daughter. He died 6 weeks before she was born, 28 years ago. dbednarsk@yahoo.com
What a sweet post. I loved reading about your mother. My hero would be my aunt GAGA. She's always been like a grandmother to me. I love her compassion and thoughtfulness. She's so special to me. I don't know what I would do without her.
My mom would be my hero, too. I am so thankful she chose to help us out when she found out we were having twins and knew we were going to need so much help. She has allowed us to give attention to all three of our boys and I don't know what I'd do without her. I'm sorry your mom is gone, but I'm sure she's looking down and with you guys all the time!

My mother and father are both my heroes! They have always supported and encouraged me in everything I do! They worked so hard to give my brother and I things that they didn't have but more importantly they have showered us with love, kindness and understanding. I don't know what I would do without them! I tell them all the time how important they are to me and how much they mean to me!

I would have to say my mother in law is one off my heroes. It has been 7 years since she passed away. She was sick for some time and handled it with grace and never complained. She never lost sight of what was important. She was a teacher as well…
My youngest who was born after she passed away looks just like her when she was a little girl. It makes me smile. God sent us a sweet reminder . . .

What a touching memory of your mom! One of my heroes would be my grandma. She passed away a year ago. She was always full of life and zest! She would welcome anyone into her life. She loved to tell stories with enough detail to make me say "TMI Grandma," but pretended to be shocked when her daughters told a similar story.

What a lovely tribute to your mom. I lost my mom twenty-four years ago when my son Vincent was only 6 weeks old. It was a sad time for me because he would never get to know what a wonderful person she was. My oldest son was three when she passed. The day she died, my husband and I were out shopping for a tree for our yard and she was babysitting for us. That very tree was the tree we planted in her honor. When we planted the tree three weeks after her passing, he told us she would now be able to climb back down from Heaven to see us again (Mickey and the beanstalk was his favorite story at the time). I cried my eyes out to say the least. Thank you for sharing your story with us. Life does go on and what a wonderful way you have made it to go on for you and your family in honor of your mom.
