Remind 101 and a { FREEBIE }

Oh my goodness y’all ~~~~  { and I’m not even from Texas } but it just sounds so appropriate right now!  There is this awesome, amazing app called Remind 101.  My parents this year are LOVING IT!!!  First of all it’s…FREE!!!

So here is what it looks like from the app store.  Basically what happens is once you register remind 101 will assign you a phone number { still free of charge }.  Then they will assign you a code.

This is what it looks like when I begin to type a message.  * The only glitchy thing is that there is a text word limit so sometimes my info takes up 2 separate texts.  They don’t mind, in fact they are loving it.

 I introduced it at back to school night but you could send home a letter with the directions too.  I gave the parents the number to text and the code.  After they text the number they are asked to identify themselves ( name only ) and they are in my system.  This is the GREATEST invention ever for a teacher I think.  I can send out texts and the parents get great info about school.  FIRST I’m not wasting paper.  I wish I could say I was a save the earth, tree hugger that didn’t want to waste paper….BUT nah!  We now have a paper { copy }  limit so I’ve become very conservative on my number of copies each month.  Anywho I haven’t even gotten to the best part yet…LOL  As much as I love my kids and families — the best part is they can’t text me back.  This is a one way system…So if I send out a text to remind them tomorrow is picture day or crazy hair day I can’t get responses about questions about money, whatever.  I don’t know about you but I feel like if I opened the door to giving them my real number for texting I would be answering questions all night about homework, etc…who knows right?  It is genius!!!  I look super organized because I can send out reminders, heads up on upcoming events, etc.  They feel connected and I’m not dodging calls, or texts all night.  YOU seriously NEED to check it out…it’s so easy peasy to sign up.  Give it a try!
