Teaching Science is so much fun! I love how engaging it can be and how the students get so excited to explore!
Let me tell you all about how I teach weather and the seasons and how I make it something my students look forward to each day! 🌞❆☔🌈⛅
My weather unit includes learning and discussing temperatures and seasons. So, as part of our calendar time I have the helper of the day predict what degrees they think it is outside. Then….we take a look at our LARGE thermometer that is outside our classroom and check it to see how close they were to their prediction.

It is so much fun and our helper of the day ( and everyone else for that matter ) absolutely loves it. That page is part of my weather unit and I like to bind those pages and make it into a weather book that is kept near our calendar board in a basket.
We also make our very own weather vane and then go outside to see if it works, where I use to teach it always seemed to work because we were on a bit of a hill in a windy tunnel which was nice.
I’ve also included bright posters and vocab cards as well as lots of printables on seasons and weather. You can also have your students make their very own thermometer which allows them to show the degrees of the day – YES – it’s interactive!!!
Don’t miss out on this very fun science unit teaching all about seasons and weather grab it here!
