Testing and More

So as many of you know I have moved up to 3rd from first.  I spent about 15 years in first and 5 in 2nd.  I LOVE third so much!  I love the independence, the more challenging curriculum ( especially math ) – it’s been GREAT!!!!  Until… ~ ~ ~ the DREADED TESTing!!!  That TEST!  Ugh!

I know that it’s all 21st centuryish and on line well ~ hello!  I taught 2nd and 3rd years ago when we did the test and it was paper pencil.  I must say I like that test MUCH better!  However I see that we are headed in the direction of technology and there seems to be no way around it.  Of course in order to take this type of test I have to spend valuable teaching time prepping them on HOW to use the tools on this test.  Here is a sample video/practice test where the kids are being taught how to use the tools that are offered by this test.  

We had a busy week indeed!  We also managed to get in a skype session with Jane Goodall { which was amazing by the way }.  The kids loved it!

The last exciting part of my week involves my mama who you all know I love and miss ….well she made the TPT blog and newsletter.  Lastly we had a Rubik’s Cube dress up day at school.  Each grade level is assigned a different color to wear and we are so colorful at Friday line up.  Have you ever had that kind of day?  Hope your week was great!!!! xoxo
