March Teaching Ideas

February 26, 2023

March is a fun, but busy month of teaching for sure, let me share some of my favorite March Teaching Ideas. The nice thing is it usually leads right up to SPRING BREAK!!! March kicks off with Read Across America Week, and as a literacy specialist a busy week for me!

Read Across America Ideas

I like to decorate the school office hallway with a cute reading bulletin board – some of my favorites you can see above , just click the image for the link. Next, I organize a Spirit Week and boy is it fun! So, everyday is a dress up day that helps keep the momentum going for a fun week.

Next, have your Student Council read aloud a quote from a popular picture book or chapter book during morning announcements. The first teacher to email me the name of the book gets a little surprise from me and their class gets a popsicle party or extra recess. The teachers, admin and the students LOVE this activity.

More Teaching Resources

Also, March is also the perfect time to have some leprechaun shenanigan fun with your class. I have several St. Patrick’s Day themed resources for you to choose from…check them out!

Behaviors Got you Down?

Of course your own students may be getting a little squirrely themselves. Let me share some ideas to help you out in that area. This extra whole class behavior incentive is perfect to use before Spring Break.
