Well I am 10 days away from meeting 30 sweet little first grade faces so I have been in my room trying to get it all set up. I still have a ways to go so this is the first sneak peek. I had to do some pinteresty things to my room this year ( just couldn’t help myself ).
My made it Monday – well kinda Sunday happens to be reupholstering my district rolling chair and painting/mod podging a Goodwill find bar stool. Here are some pics of the chair and bar stool. The staple gun wouldn’t work on the chair so I jimmied it with a screwdriver and then popped the fabric in with another screw driver…sounds funny but it worked!
Look at the gross stains – this chair is 12 years old.
Tops done…
YAY – finished!!
Here is the sorta matching bar stool I found at goodwill…spray pain, matching fabric – sticky adhesive and modpodge and there you have it.
Another pinteresty makeover…drawers witht he cute scrapbook paper in them.
My ‘teacher desk’ at the front of the room.
set of drawers underneath since it’s not a true teacher desk.
I found that adorable black and white polka dot magnetic expo holder at the Target dollar spot…whoo-hoo!
My Donor’s Choose backpack cart I got last year to hold their backpacks. — I LOVE IT!!!
My other pinterest project…this hardward holder actually holds alphabet stamps and alphabet magnetic letters..labeled with scrapbook paper, etc.
So I have this Big Book holder painted red…didn’t match my room. I ran out of black spray paint so to save money I just covered the front of it only with black chalkboard contact paper and voila now it kinda matches.
My reading group table with my seat crates and new redecorated chair
Heading towards my library. ( notice cute hanging tissue flowers I made this year )
I’m re doing my calendar board – so it is a work in progress.
Computer desk
These last 2 pics are from my Olympic Unit which you can find here. This is one of
the projects that you can do as part of this unit. Make a class graph. Use the medals as graph pieces. The kids write their names on the pieces and stick it in the column of their favorite Olympic Sport. Then you can analzye the graph. I will add pics after we do it together as a class. Whew – that was kinda long. Can’t wait to finish my class and add the rest of the pics.
Love what you did with your chair! Super cute!

I always love having peeks into classrooms. Loved how your swivel chair came out.

Very nice, I love getting the chance to see other classrooms.

I enjoyed looking at your room make-over. Your swivel chair looks identical to one that I am planning to cover. The other chair has the same nasty fabric but it has arms. Thanks for sharing how you managed to cover the chair.
Great chair redo! I love that backpack holder…I could SO use one…my kiddos have no cubbies and like 6 hooks in the "coat" area…not enough!

Looks fabulous! Ok-how was the chair? Truthfully! Is it a nightmare? We keep going back and forth but honestly it just scares us. One of those projects that looks like a piece of cake until you start, then you go What The! Thanks for the tour-great accomplishments. You should be very proud π
