📚 Why I Created This Book Character Partner Match

As a teacher, I love finding ways to make literacy live everywhere in the classroom — not just during reading time. And partnering up is one of those routines that can easily become either chaotic or boring.

I wanted something more meaningful than the usual peanut butter & jelly or salt & pepper cards. So, I created a partnering activity based on beloved book characters and their sidekicks!

From Frog and Toad to Harry and Hermione, each pair celebrates friendship, teamwork, and the magic of books — while giving students a quick, structured way to find their learning buddy.

💡 How It Works

It’s simple and so much fun:

  1. Print and cut the character and sidekick cards.
  2. Pass out one card to each student.
  3. Students mix and mingle to find the partner that matches their card.
  4. Once everyone’s matched up, they’re ready to tackle any project, game, or lesson together!

You can reuse the cards for different subjects all year long — from math problem-solving to science labs to reading discussions. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Partner-Cards-Book-Buddy-Partner-Match-Partner-Pairing-Cards-Book-themed-14669528
