Today and April 1st are hard days for me….today is my mom’s bday. She passed away in 2007. She had a rare cancer called Bile duct cancer and passed away 6 months from the day of diagnosis. She was my best friend in the world and miss her everyday. She was a teacher and amazing mother and one of my biggest goals is to honor her and pass on her legacy. I wanted to share with my new bloggy friends her memory and picture…She was soo beautiful. She loved to sing and I know she is whole again and singing with Jesus. Thanks for letting me share guys. xoxo
*UPDATE** What a coincidence!! I just got notification that I’ve been chosen to be Education World’s Teacher of the Day… on my mom’s bday! :o) That is too cool. See link here:

Oh and congrats on teacher of the day!
Vicky, I love this post. In June it will be 20 years since my sweet momma went Home to live with Jesus and there is still rarely a day goes by that I don't think about her and almost on a daily basis I find myself telling someone "My mom always used to say…" I miss her so much but I know she is watching over me and my family. My mom was also a teacher, sort of, she owned and operated her own day care and preschool. She was an amazing teacher even without the degree or the certification. She passed away before I went to college but I know she would be proud of me becoming a teacher and my 24 year old daughter is also a teacher (she teaches 1st grade) so she has 2 generations of teachers that were inspired by her. I was only 23 when she passed away and my daughter was on;y 4 but even in the short time we had her in our lives sh left a lasting impression. She was also my best friend. Your post made me think of my Mom. Thank you for posting.
Cindy – thank you so much for sharing your precious story with me. It must have been so difficult to lose her so young. I was 35 and that was hard enough. We were so blessed to have amazing mothers. I thank God for her daily and the impact she had and still has on my life. You are sweet to share that with me. God bless. :o)
